The Gulf Coast Half Marathon on the Louisiana Northshore powered by Varsity Sports selected as the 2012 Louisiana Half Marathon State Championship.
"We are honored to have been selected as the host site for the State Championship and look forward to producing another memorable event. This stop in the Gulf Coast Half Marathon Series has always produced some of the fastest times we see in the series and we anticipate this will only raise the bar and lower the times. There are some really faster runners in Louisiana" stated Adam Guess, managing partner of Gulf Coast Event Group.
There are no additional qualifications to run the GCHM in Louisiana. The race is still open to participants of all abilities, the Championship Race is an addition to the existing event.

Runners can now find all the resources they need for all the Gulf Coast Half Marathon Series in one spot www.GulfCoastHalf.com. The site has individual sections devoted to each venue (Gulf Shores, Pensacola Beach, Mandeville) and gives room for the series to expand. No more running around to various sites to get updated information on the various races. Plus the site features consolidated info on results, photos, training and more. New for 2012 - Series prizes
Complete in all three Gulf Coast Half Marathons in the 2012 series and receive your limited edition GCHM Series sweatshirt. Additionally, runners can compete to be named Series Champion! Times from the 3 events currently on the 2012 calendar will be averaged at the conclusion of the series with the fastest average time overall (M/F) and in each age group will be named Series Champion (prizes to be announced at the Gulf Shores event Jan 22).
